The first with curved fullered blade, the forte etched and gilt against a blued ground (some loss of finish) over much of its length on both sides with martial trophies and foliage, one side with maker's initials of Schnitzler & Kirschbaum, Solingen, regulation brass hilt sparsely cast with foliage and with side-bar swept up to join the knuckle-guard, and wire-bound leather-covered grip, in original black leather scabbard (loss of finish) with brass locket and chape, the former with foliate frog button; the second with bright curved fullered blade, the forte (originally blued and gilt) etched with trophies and foliage, and brass hilt similar to the last, in original black leather scabbard also similar to the last; the third converted to the 1845 model, with curved fullered blade (light pitting overall) retaining traces of etched decoration, brass hilt similar to the last and retaining some gilding, in original black leather scabbard (some crazing) with brass locket and chape, the latter with ring for suspension (3)
