Three Miniature Icons, Crucifixion and Saints.

Eastern Europe, 19th/20th Century. A group of three miniature icons, tempera and gilt on wood panels. Depicting a crucifixion with saints, the halos gold leaf, in a gilt-lined shadowbox frame/kiot (4" x 3 1/4"; kiot 6" x 5 1/4"); four saints on gilt ground, in an ornate gilt frame (2" x 2 1/4"; frame 8 1/2" x 9 1/4"); together with another of two saints with Christ above (3 1/2" x 3"). Condition: two with craquelure; small spots of loss; the kiot with wear commensurate with age. Provenance: Private Collection, Northern California. Provenance: Private Collection, Northern California.
