Three gold and ivory mourning rings
England or America, dated 1773, 1774, and 1780
The first, of circular form, painted with woman leaning on covered urn, the reverse set with hair and inscribed, "Mary Paine/ ob: 1 Apr./ 1773 AE 25"; the second, of oval form, with drooping rosebuds and urn on hill in the distance, the band inscribed, "WILLM PIDDOCK DIED 28 APR 1774 AGED 21," further inscribed along inner band, "IN Piddock died 5 Jany 1773 Aged 28," fitted in jeweler's box; the third, of oval form, depicting covered urn beneath weeping willow tree, the reverse inscribed, "Sarah/ Baldrey/ ob. 3/ Jan. 1780/ Aet 64," all seemingly unmarked.
