Three-part suite - consisting of a daybed and two armchairs - Louis XVI Style - Beech - 1870-1890

A late 19th century suite consisting of two armchairs and a canapé. The set, inspired by the 18th century Louis XVI-style, is entirely made from solid beechwood in France about 1870-1890. The set is richly decorated with refined turning & carving, such as the fluting in the twisted front legs, rosettes, flower and leaf motifs and the bow tie on the backrest. The armchairs and canapé have been recently reupholstered with a nice light linen fabric which does justice to the beautiful wood work. Unfortunately, the bench and one chair have a stain due to water from a leak. These could possibly be covered by a decorative cushion. The woodwork is in its original wax finish, giving it a beautiful satin gloss.
