[ translate ]

Tiffany Studios
Vase

circa 1897
Favrile glass
engraved L.C.T. F666
8⅝ in. (21.9 cm) high

Condition Report:
Overall in very good condition. When viewed firsthand, the vase presents slightly lighter in color than illustrated in the catalogue photography. The vase displays a rich jewel tone iridescence throughout that enlivens the olive green surface with saturated shades of cobalt blue and magenta when viewed with reflected light. The glass presents with occasional minor air bubbles, particulate inclusions and surface irregularities which are inherent in the making and not visually distracting. The glass surfaces throughout with scattered, very fine and light surface scratches consistent with age and gentle handling. The lower third of the vase with a few slightly more pronounced small scratches near the base, the largest measuring approximately ¼ in. and not visually distracting. The interior of the vase with traces of light surface soiling. The underside of the vase is applied with a Doros Collection accession number.

Provenance:
Helen Heath, Montclair, New Jersey, 1973
