Tim Cox is an American painter known for detailed, realistic portrayals of contemporary cowboy life. Raised in the farming and ranching community of Duncan, Arizona, he developed a firsthand understanding of horses, cattle, and the daily work of ranchers that became central to his art. A self-taught painter, Cox combines carefully observed figures and animals with expansive landscapes and dramatic skies. His paintings reflect both the demanding work and quiet pleasures of the modern West. He received the 2003 Prix de West Purchase Award and joined the Cowboy Artists of America in 2007, later serving as its president.
