Tineke Beunders en Nathan Wierink (Ontwerpduo) - APTUM - Lamp, Light installation

Contour is a lighting system designed by Tineke Beunders and Nathan Wierink (designer duo) for Aptum. The Contour is a fine graphic interplay of lines with light, and is custom made in many diverse (often unique) variations. This lighting installation is called 'Floating Falling' and only one of it was made. It used to hang at the Object Rotterdam art/design fair and was supposed to be moved to Gallery Rosanna Orlandi for the Salone del Mobile. Unfortunately, this never materialised because of the COVID-19 situation. We are now looking for a good new, permanent location for this fantastic installation! We would very much prefer to come and install it ourselves, but it can of course also be set up by a third party. The lighting installation consists of 24 rectangles, ascending in size: 15 pieces measuring 49 x 31 cm 4 pieces measuring 56 x 36 cm 2 pieces measuring 66 x 41 cm 2 pieces measuring 76 x 46 cm 1 piece measuring 88 x 53 cm. The ability to control the LED lamps allows for a great and varied number of options in terms of colour and intensity. We would like to discuss the way of operating with the end user, since it offers a large variety of options. It depends on which system you prefer. An autonomously functioning system (with remote control) , connected to Philips Hue or Dali. All these options can be and are included in the price, with a maximum of 5 colour groups (this is also how the installation was originally intended) . More is possible at a surcharge. About the composition: Designer Tineke Beunders created the 'Floating Falling'. 10/01/2020. A composition with LED light from Aptum's system, 'Contour'. It expresses her personal feeling in geometric shapes: when losing grip on a situation, the carefully constructed web of thoughts, actions and preferences starts to crumble. In the composition of light the separate parts are detaching from the overarching structure. They change their colour, size and direction. It might look unexpected, but at the same time the whole becomes richer and more beautiful than it ever was. New insights arise, innovative ideas and fresh outlooks fill the mind. One could also look at the composition from a broader perspective. That is, what happens on micro level is also reflected on a global scale. MODEL: lighting installation, 24 rectangles. MATERIAL: coated steel, plastic. FRAME COLOUR: white, RAL 9016. LIGHT COLOUR: 1000+ RGB tones. DIMENSIONS: ceiling surface: approx. 2. 5 by 3. 5 metres. But, we can also hang it somewhat further apart, in which case the dimensions will be larger. The same goes for the rectangles that 'fall' down. These can be hung either closer to or further away from the ceiling. PRODUCTION: the Netherlands. DELIVERY: we will come and install it (not included in the price) or send it on a pallet along with a user manual. You can also opt to pick it up yourself, which will, of course, be free of charge.
