History of the Tirschenreuth company:
After extensive kaolin deposits were discovered in Tirschenreuth, porcelain production began there in the 1830s. The Tirschenreuth porcelain factory was initially a branch of the porcelain factory in Schney (1782 - 1928) . Later partners and owners were Edmund Tittel, Friedrich Muther and August Bauscher. The latter sold his share to Karl Metzger, after which the company was renamed Muther & Metzger. After the takeover by Lorenz Hutschenreuther AG in Selb, the factory was continued as a branch from 1927 until 1994.
