Post-earthquake abstract of title for a prime piece of real estate in San Francisco's financial district, tracing the transfers of the land front its grant by George C. Hyde, Alcalde, to Jno. C. Buchanan in 1847, up to its inheritance by the heirs of Samuel Sachs in 1906. The land was a small lot on the western side of Montgomery Street, abutting Trinity St. alley, still in ruins following the devastating earthquake and fire, but with great potential as The City began the rebuilding process. The map shows the entire block, bounded by Kearny, Bush, Montgomery, and Sutter streets, with portions of the surrounding blocks. The final leaf is signed by H.W. Dimond, Manager of the abstract company.
Condition Report: Moderate wear to covers, old paper label on front cover which is chipped; very good.
