[ translate ]

Technique: Oversize woodblock print from the original blocks
Artist: Teruhide Kato (1936-2015)
Titled: Tofukuji Temple in autumn
Japan - Heisei period (1989-2019)

This temple is renowned not only for its historical buildings, and the artistry of its gardens, but also for a deep ravine filled with maple trees that runs through the center of its grounds. In all seasons visitors can enjoy spectacular views here from the quaint wooden bridges that cross the ravine, but in the autumn when the maples are a blaze of red the sight is unforgettable.

Teruhide Kato (1936-2015) had studied at Kyoto Art College. He was a famous
kimono fashion designer. When he was 50 years old, he decided
to follow his real passion, and became a traditional Kyoto woodblock artist. Success remained with the artist.
After a gallery exhibition in New York and a book publication of
his works titled "Kyoto Romance" he is as famous as a woodblock
artist as he used to be as a kimono designer

This item is as new. Top condition and vibrant colors! The beautiful dotted. Look at al the details!
