Tohohara Chikanobu (Japanese, 1838-1912) 'Hatsu-Uma' Woodblock Triptych

1895, signed upper right quadrant of right triptych having Japanese characters in a cartouches stamped lower left quadrant of left triptych, all (3) prints having 'bokashi' shading are affixed to tri-fold mat; depicting a samurai holding a falcon and his female consort having elaborate floral headdress and kimono walking towards an event held in a large architectural structure, followed by another samurai bearing a standard and leading (3) other warriors, the last of whom is holding a 'taiko' (big drum); together with a single print by the same artist dated 1898, signed lower right quadrant, depicting (2) women feeding koi in a pond with an architectural structure and landscape in the background, tipped into a folding paper mat
