[ translate ]

Mixed Media Collage (Epoxy on paper) by Tom Holland (American, b. 1936), "Tower Series #1", 1979. This work is a colorful abstract composition, featuring geometric forms in tones of blue, yellow, green, red, and brown set against a toned red ground. The sheet measures approximately 34 1/2" x 45", and the framed dimensions are 38 1/2" x 50 1/2". It is signed and dated "Holland 79" lower right. A label on the verso from Hansen Fuller Gallery, San Francisco, lists the title as "#110" (greens), epoxy on paper, 46" x 35", 1976, which may be incorrect as the date with the signature on the front is 1979, and the term "greens" does not seem to apply to the colors in this piece. Come with original receipt from Hansen Fuller Goldeen Gallery, San Francisco. Dated October 11th, 1979. This item originates from the estate of John A. Williams, a distinguished philanthropist and renowned collector. Mr. Williams and his partner Dewitt Hart were influential members of San Francisco's art society and were celebrated for their discerning taste in modern, ethnographic, and fine art. Over the years, they hosted numerous exhibitions in their home, showcasing their prestigious collection to appreciative audiences. All proceeds of items from this estate benefit the Hart Williams Rainbow Fund, a nonprofit working with the LGBTQIA+ community in the San Francisco Bay Area.
