Tony Bennett | Army Dog Tags, Photo, And Letters
Tony Bennett's WWII military issue dog tags featuring Tony Bennett's birth name "Anthony Benedetto." Together with a photograph of Bennett posing with members of his Army band. The letters, one handwritten and two typed, are from an military friend and relatives of one of Bennett's army buddies who was somehow in possession of Bennett's dog tags when he returned home from the war. The family reached out to Bennett to return the tags in 2003. The letters, that accompanied the tags, share information about his army friend informing Bennett that he passed away in 1984 but share, "When Frankie spoke of you, Tony, he did it with warmth & pride. As a little brother might speak of an older brother."
