A 19th Century Tortoise Shell Necessaire. Oval form case with tortoise shell veneer opens to reveal bone accents and a fitted interior with a pair of scissors, a thimble, and a file and a tailor's awl each with mother of pearl handles. Marked "Lund Maker 56 & 57 Cornhill, London" at the interior of the case and "Sterling Silver Made in England" on the thimble. Wear and light scratches to the case, the thimble and scissors may be of a later date. Case is 5" x 3" x 3/4" high. ESTIMATE $100-150
