Toshi Yoshida was an extremely renowned artist in the sosaku-hanga movement of modern printmaking. His close relationship with his father Hiroshi Yoshida was instrumental in the pursuit of his art and produced many woodblock prints portraying natural scenes while developing his niche with exotic animals. When Toshi was nineteen years old, his father took him on a sketching trip to India in 1930 and later to Southeast Asia. Toshi inherited not only his father's talent but also his passion for traveling.
