Touat 005 Lunar Meteorite Slice Lunar (feldspathic breccia) Adrar, Algeria - (27° 44' 50"N, 1° 22' 11"W) Found: 2020 Touat 005 represents a unique variety of lunar meteorite characterized by the feldspathic breccia having whitish plagioclase megacrysts which really contrast nicely with the charcoal gray matrix of this material. Such larger crystalline grains give Touat 005 an intriguing appearance relative to other meteorites from the Moon. This slice, weighing just over 74 grams and measuring nearly 5.5 inches (14 cm), offers a polished display face that is saturated with clasts of various shapes, sizes, and colors, resulting in one complex and complicated meteorite slab. The well-balanced form boasts a relatively expansive surface area, providing for a most dramatic visual piece. Touat 005 is one unique type of lunar meteorite, with a look all its own.
