Paint was expensive so most tramp artists shied away from using it and the patriotically painted tramp art object was rarely found. The paint is original to the piece due to each layer painted before assembly. The box has two drawers and is in great shape. Couple of missing points on top layers. Dating to 1900 - 1920.
