[ translate ]

Crafted in Trenton, New Jersey, this monumental 3-liter master stein stands as a premier example of early 20th-century American Art Nouveau porcelain, showcasing a highly detailed, hand-painted monochromatic slip-glaze portrait titled "The Monk and the Maid" alongside detailed reverse-side imagery of wine casks and storage barrels. The vessel is meticulously formed from translucent, ivory-toned American Belleek parian porcelain and features its original, premium Art Nouveau mixed-metal dome lid with a matching porcelain insert. The dark-patinated sterling silver mounting, detailed with elegant cutout windows and scrolling fluid motifs, remains mechanically intact and secured to the stylized scroll-work handle via its original adjustable collar and brass tension screw assembly. This rare transitional piece is in excellent antique condition, retaining its deep mirror-like gloss with no chips or cracks, and bears a crisp, gold laurel wreath factory backstamp flanked by the hand-painted gold artist initials "N M" on the base. Measures 10.25 inches high, 5.75 wide to handle. Please see photos.
