Pair of ivory travel triptychs. France, 19th century Respectively: 13. 8×18 cm and 14×17. 5 cm The two ivory triptychs offered here represent episodes from the life of Louis XIV. In the first, beautifully preserved in its ivory beauty, is depicted the king on horseback on the battlefield while receiving the weapons from defeated opponents. The second, embellished with an extensive polychrome that is still well preserved, the king is represented in an elegant court scene with other gentlemen who turn to him in a respectful manner. They are mounted on a simple wooden structure and are in excellent condition. For possible buyers outside of Italy: it will be possible to issue a standard certificate of free movement within the time required by law.
