Two 18th Century English Miniature Painted Portraits
This lot is for a small pair of 18th-century oval painted portraits. They are English in origin, and appear to depict a couple, perhaps newlyweds. The painting of the handsome husband includes a real lock of his hair under glass. The lady is finely-detailed and well-dressed, wearing a pearl necklace. Both portraits are presented side-by-side, in a gilded, gessoed period frame. In excellent condition, they measure 6.5" high X 8.5" wide.
