Two 19th C. Persian Glazed Pottery Bowls

Near East, Persia (current day Iran), ca. 19th to early 20th century CE. An ensemble of 2 hand-built pottery bowls, each covered in clear glaze to preserve the colorful decorations underneath. The first bowl features an alternating pattern of brown and green panels surrounding a soft yellow basin, and the larger bow features turquoise and burgundy bands encircling an abstract serrated form centered in the basin. Size of largest: 12.5" Diameter x 4" H (31.8 cm x 10.2 cm)
Provenance: private Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA collection, inherited via grandfather, who collected before 1980
