second quarter 19th century, the smaller a stationary box in domed form, circa 1840s, coromandel veneers, decorated with bronzed tack and rectilinear metal mounts, opens to an attractive royal blue divided interior (4 1/2 x 6 3/8 x 4 in.) ; the second a valuables box in mahogany veneers, with mixed wood inlays, lift-off shelf revealing open storage (5 3/4 x 10 x 7 1/8 in.).

Condition Report: Mahogany box with some veneer repairs, glued repair to base panel; with later underside and leather tray surfaces; retaining remnants of papered interior. Coromandel form with some tears to metal mounts, and a few veneer cracks.
