Two American Saltglaze Stoneware Jugs, Circa 1830 and 1870. Comprising a two-gallon jug, circa 1830, of ovoid shape with cylindrical mouth, applied ridged lug handle, impressed "I. SEYMOUR/ TROY FACTORY (New York)/ 2;" and a two-gallon jug, circa 1870, of cylindrical form with tapered mouth, applied grooved handle, painted in cobalt blue with a berry sprig, impressed "E & LP NORTON/ BENNINGTON VT/ 2," each with blue-heightened maker's mark. Seymour jug: H: 14.5 in., Diam: 9.5 in. Norton jug: H: 14 in., Diam: 8.375 in.
