Two Antique Silver Trophies Awarded to Gov. Charles D.

Two Antique Silver Trophies Awarded to Gov. Charles D. Kimball of Rhode Island; lot includes 1) a silver loving cup style trophy engraved on the face and dated December, 1913. This trophy is marked "Tilden-Thurber Co." and "sterling" on the base. Careful inspection shows it is silver plate. And 2) a tall cup style trophy with a single "K" engraved on the face and "1885 1910" on the reverse. This piece is silver plate. Both trophies are in good condition, both show some small dents and minor flaking of the plated surface. The loving cup trophy measures 6 1/4" D x 9 1/2" W (w/handles) x 12" H. The tall cup trophy measures 12 3/4" H x 4 1/2" DIA. Research shows Charles Kimball was a successful businessman and governor of Rhode Island from 1901 to 1903. He had a daughter named Marion, not sure if he had a bump on the forehead.
