Two Chinese Cizhou miniature vases
Song/Yuan dynasty
The first carved with a radiating design around the shoulder, beneath the flared rim, and covered overall in a think white glaze stopping short of the foot to reveal the buff body, box, 8cm high; the second, of baluster shape, covered in a glassy black glaze to the centre of the base and lower body to the base of the slender white-glazed neck, box, 8cm high (2).
