Two Chinese Underglaze Blue and Red Snuff Bottles, 19th
Two Chinese blue and white with red underglaze porcelain snuff bottles dating from the 19th century. One bottle depicts horses. The other, larger bottle depicts three figures speaking about a dragon outside of a city gate. The bottom of this snuff bottle has a flower and a bird.
Dimensions are: the larger bottle measures 3 1/2 inches tall X 1 1/4 inches wide, 8.9 cm X 3.2 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: The bottle with the horses has a chip to the foot. The other bottle is in good condition.
Provenance: From the estate of Mr. Pitts in Southern Virginia. The piece was collected over 30 years ago.
