Two Chinese famille verte dishes
Of circular form, decorated in famille verte enamels, the centre painted with a landscape scene within a small circle, set within a band of green triangle work interspersed with thee large floral rosettes, the inner rim with a band of ruyi-heads, the outer rim with four cartouches containing a flower set against an orange ground with gilt decoration, the bases glazed and with two floral sprays. Period: Kangxi (1662 - 1722). Diameter: 35 cm.
These Chinese Kangxi dishes were copied by Meissen circa 1735.
