Two Chinese monochrome red-glazed vases
Mid Qing dynasty
The first, thickly potted in a pear-shaped form terminating in a garlic head, covered overall in a thick, 'crushed raspberry' glaze thinning to white at the rim and pooling at the foot, unglazed base, 37cm high; the second, a bottle, with slender tubular neck over a compressed globular lower body, also covered in a thick, glassy red glaze, streaked brown and thinning to white at the rim, pooling at the foot around the unglazed base, 30cm high.
