Two Chinese pottery horses and riders, Tang dynasty, one modelled as a female rider wearing a headscarf with traces of straw glaze, the other as a male rider with his left arm across his body and with clenched fist, both atop horses standing four square, 33cm - 35cm high (2) Provenance: purchased from Ormonde Oriental Antiques, London, 1990/91, with receipts. The results of Oxford Authentication thermoluminescence test nos. 566h3 & 566w50, dated 29th June 1990 and 29th October 1991 respectively, are consistent with the dating of these objects.
品相報告 Condition Report: Both with TL test holes, as detailed in their respective certificates. The female rider and horse with a loss to the right hand, with the left arm missing fingers. Possible restorations to the legs. Losses to the glaze in areas, with surface wear throughout. The male rider with losses o the tail. Glued repairs to the corner of the base, with additional repairs to the legs of the horse with restoration material present. There is a crack running around the hind of the horse to the bottom of the rider's back.
