Two Continental Portrait Miniatures

late 19th/early 20th century
the first depicting a mother and child, signed Jean Guy, the second depicting Marie Antoinette after Le Brun, signed M. Silvestre, each set in a gilt bronze frame.
Larger overall: height 11 3/8 x width 8 7/8 inches.

Example signed 'Jean Guy' appears in good, stable condition examination under UV light shows small scattered areas of likely overpainting along edge of work.. Not examined outside of frame. Example depicting Marie Antoinette with a crack to lower left, visible while framed. Additional images available upon request.
