Two Finely Cast Chinese Bronze Censors

possibly Ming dynasty, wide shallow forms, foo lion mask handles, one with stylized ruyiÿborder, Xuandeÿreign marks to bases, one in central decorative dragon border, largest 3 x 7-1/2 in - Provenance: Collected in Shanghai, China prior to 1902 by Frederick and Margaret Haskell; By descent in family to Frances Arnold; Private Collection, Newnan, Georgia - .Note:ÿObjects from this personal collection were acquired in Shanghai, China between the years 1862-1902. They were collected by Frederick and Margaret Haskell. Mr. Haskell was the owner of the Japan and China Trading Company. The couple retired to Lake Weir Florida in 1902, bringing these collected objects with them to the United States and they descended through the family to current day.
