Two Framed Reliquaries in Carved Gilt Wood Frames, One Circa 1880. The first centering a watercolor on paper of S. JOSEPHUS holding upright the baby Jesus in his arms, surrounded by silver and gilt thread ribbons, in a shadowbox frame; the second with an altar shaped silk stuffed ink painted image of a nun with shepherd's crook, within sequied, ribbons, floral and faux gem surround, within giltwood shaped frame. Continental. Circa 1880 and later. {Approximate Measurements: 12 x 10 x 2 1/2 inches, the larger. 8 x 6 x2 1/4 inches, the smaller. Basically very good condition. The St Joseph: Light smudge to watercolor, upper corner; some rough areas and gilt losses to frame. Losses to frame, upper left area; light wear and fading.
