Two French oval porcelain plaques
painted by Sophie Liénard (French, active 1842-45)

The first, depicting a woman wearing a green velvet dress, gold earrings and necklace, a black lace veil over her head draping over her shoulders, signed S. Liénard and inscribed to reverse Mm Sophie Liénard peintre 41 rue Meslay Paris; the second depicting a woman in a black velvet gown with lace trim, a gold and ruby brooch at her décolletage, signed Sophie Liénard, each framed.
