Two George III Inlaid Satinwood Tea Caddies
both circa 1790, the first an octagonal form, kingwood inlaid borders, lid and front with well defined Prince of Wales crown and plume inlay within a forest green oval, inlaid shield escutcheon, mahogany ellipse inlay to sides, painted and shaded fluted pilasters to three quarter sides, with original lead lining (4 5/8 x 4 5/8 x 3 1/2 in.); the second a cubic form, the sides and top with rendered round paterae inlays, inlaid escutcheon to the top of elliptical inlaid patera, kingwood inlaid borders, shaped finial pull, opens to a leaded interior (5 1/4 x 4 x 4 in.).
