Two Handmade Wooden Roombox Dollhouse Dioramas with Miniature Furniture and Figures.
A set of two separate, handmade wooden diorama roomboxes representing a bedroom and a living/dining room, constructed from wood with sliding glass front panels. The dioramas are built to a miniature scale, likely 1:12. The set includes:
A living and dining room diorama housed in a light-coloured natural wood grain box. The interior features patterned floral wallpaper to the rear and striped grey and white wallpaper to the side walls, with a red felt-covered floor. The room is furnished with a dark-stained wooden Welsh dresser, a grandfather clock, a writing desk, a dining table with three chairs, and a grand piano with a matching stool. A brick-effect fireplace with a mantlepiece is centrally positioned. Accessories include two small framed landscape pictures, a brass-effect chandelier, a bowl of fruit, a sewing machine, and a miniature bottle with an adhesive label reading Champ and 0.5% Vol. Two small plastic figures, characteristic of Fisher-Price Little People style, are seated on a red sofa.
A bedroom diorama housed in a dark reddish-brown stained wooden box. The interior is decorated with purple floral wallpaper and a blue velvet-effect floor covering. The furniture, crafted from light-coloured wood, comprises a four-poster bed, a wardrobe, a chest of drawers, a dressing table with a mirror and stool, and a bedside cabinet. A wooden chest sits at the foot of the bed. Accessories include a brass-coloured pendant light, a miniature book, and two red spheres. A single doll with a synthetic reddish-brown wig and painted features is positioned in the bed, which is dressed with white lace bedding.
More Information
The dioramas appear to be in excellent vintage condition. There is visible dust and light surface smudging on the glass panels (photos 1, 5, and 6). The wooden exteriors show minor scuffs and light wear consistent with age, particularly visible on the corners of the lower box (photo 8). All interior components appear to be secured in place, and the sliding glass panels are functional (photo 6).
