Two Jade Figurines
3"H pinecones 3 ⅛" x 2 ⅛" monkey
Two carved pale celadon jade carvings. The first modeled as a pair of pinecones with crosshatched bodies below overlapping leaves, drilled through the top for suspension; the second carved in openwork with a monkey crouched among lingzhi fungus and fruiting vine, the stone with russet skin inclusions.
Condition: Good. The pinecone carving with an open natural cavity of rough matte texture at the top between the cones and a second rough flaw on the reverse, with light scratches overall and faint cloudy inclusions in the stone. The monkey carving with russet skin staining across the base and lower left, a small brown-filled cavity to one side, and a further rough cavity in the underside.
