Two Japanese Bisque Skull on Books Nodder Figurines

Bisque porcelain figurines fashioned as human skulls resting on red-bound books. Each figurine features an articulated lower jaw attached with metal spring hardware, designed to function as a nodder mechanism. The skulls are hollowed at the cranium, serving as holders for matches, pens, or small candles. One base features a red stamped mark reading MADE IN JAPAN in two lines. The smaller base bears a circular black stamped mark with characters including A, P, and N, consistent with Japanese export marks, though the complete text is not clearly legible.
