Two Japanese Bronze Kabuki "Noh" Figures
Japanese, late 19th / early 20th century. A pair of figural sculptures in bronze and mixed metal. The two figures are Jo and Uba, from a traditional Noh play (Takasago) representing marital virtue. Unmarked. Approx. h. 9", w. 6" (Jo). Provenance:From the Estate of Charles Ackerman of Atlanta, Georgia.
Condition Report: Scattered scuffing and scratches commensurate with shelfware. Restoration to head of rake on Jo and Uba is missing her hand and broom.
