Japanese, 19th century. Two Imari palette scalloped edge bowl and plate, the bowl is decorated with foliate motifs throughout and a bird of paradise design (w. 9"); the plate with a heavily gilt decorated surface with florallandscapes to the surface and prosperity motifs to the underside (w. 10.5"). Both marked with circular blue underglaze marks to underside. Provenance: From the Estate of Mr. & Mrs. John E. Houser of Jacksonville, Florida.
