Two London Bulldog Society Bronze Plaques, 19th century, of rectangular form, bas-relief with a standing bulldog, 5cm by 5cm, in leather cases; A George V Silver and Blue Enamel Badge, Birmingham 1923, cast with the head of a bulldog and inscribed THE AIREDALE AND BULLDOG CLUB - WON BY TOMMY TRADDLES 21.11.23; A Similar Plaque, won by SELINA SNODGRASS; A White Metal Medal, inscribed Presented to the Bulldog Club London by the Queensland Bulldog Club Australia; and Eleven Badges, inscribed THE BULLDOG CLUB CORP FOUNDED 1875 and with various presentation inscriptions (16)

Following the banning of bull baiting in 1835 the demand for bulldogs declined, however a small group of enthusiasts got together to try and perpetuate the breed. The first bulldog club was founded in 1864 and introduced the first set of standards for the breed; following the failure of this first club a second club was formed in 1875, this is seen as the forerunner of all dog clubs. The London Bulldog Society was formed shortly after.
