Two Russian Silver Miniature Icons, Christ and Saints.
Late 19th Century. Two miniature icons, tempera painted, with chased silver oklads, one gilt; depicting Christ Pantocrator enthroned, with saints and angels (2 5/8" x 2 1/4"); the other of Saints Guriy, Aviv, and Samon (2 5/8" x 2 1/8"). Both marked 84 standard silver; Christ icon is also stamped: "AP [over] 1889 [Saint George] AK." Condition good; some small rim dents to the saint trio. Provenance: Private Collection, Northern California.
