Two Victorian Gold Medals, Makers Mark Poorly Struck, Probably by Daniel George Collins, Birmingham, 1897, 9ct, Supplied by Spiridion and Sons, Cardiff, circular the obverse with a shield chased with the Welsh dragon below a Prince-of-Wales feather and within the legend 'National Cyclists Union South Wales Centre', the reverse of each engraved with an inscription to J. A. Metcalf as the award for 1/4 mile and 1/2 mile respectively at the Welsh Championship 1897, within laurel branches, with suspension loop, each 4cm high, 15dwt (24.2gr.)
