Two Vintage Pima Baskets With Lots Of Black Designs

Presented here for your consideration are two vintage Pima baskets heavily decorated in black designs. In this lot are two very nice sized, expertly woven, and decorated Pima baskets. The tall basket is lavishly decorated with diamond and half diamond shapes while the other basket is decorated in the traditional Pima fret pattern.
The Pima (Akimel O'Odham), who reside in central and southern Arizona, produced magnificent baskets with meaningful designs and patterns. Their finely-coiled baskets are made of cattail or bear grass foundation and closely stitched with willow and devil's claw (for designs). They are some of the most sought after of the Southwestern baskets by collectors. Add these to your collection by bidding now!
MAKER: Unknown basket weavers.
APPROX AGE: Vintage (meaning somewhere between 1930s to 1970s).
SIZE: The tall basket measures approximately 8 inches across x 4 1/2 inches deep. The other measures approximately 11 1/4 inches across x 2 1/2 inches deep.
CONDITION: Good for their age, normal wear and fading expected. Please look closely at the pictures as they are an important part of our description and are hereby incorporated into the description, specifically with regards to condition.
