Two Walrus Tusk Transformation Carvings — Seal & Beluga, Signed CIKPIK

Two imaginative walrus tusk carvings pair seals and belugas with human-animal transformation figures, each mounted on a dark baleen base. The terminal section of a tusk forms the upright core of each scene, its granular inner dentine providing a textured backdrop to the smoothly carved animals.

In the taller carving, a seal rests above a human-seal figure wrapped around the lower tusk, with a small human face emerging within the animal’s head. The companion pairs a swimming beluga with a human-beluga figure below, its face merging with sweeping, fluke-like forms. Rounded bodies, extended flippers and dark inset eyes give the two scenes their playful character, while the natural cream and mottled brown tones make each setting distinct.

Both are signed “CIKPIK” beneath the bases and inscribed “05.” They show fine checks in the carved tusk and light wear to the baleen bases. The taller carving measures approximately 3" × 3" × 4.25".
