Both badges are made of iron, blackened and embossed. Oval badges with a laurel wreath around the edge; in the centre are two crossed swords, surmounted by a steel helmet (one bearing a swastika). On the reverse is a round pin with a bar. Showing signs of age and wear. Dimensions: 1939: 44 x 37 mm; 1918: 43 x 38 mm.
