Two carved shell cameo brooches featuring classical Greek goddesses Hera and Psyche. Hera, wife of Zeus, is carved onto a carved off round shell, in profile with her emblematic bird, the peacock, in the background (please note there are fractures to the shell. The cameo is mounted into unmarked yellow precious metal, testing as 9ct gold. Psyche, goddess of the soul, is carved into pink conch shell and is depicted with butterfly wings in her hair. The cameo is mounted in an ornate brooch mount, stamped "9ct" and testing accordingly. Total weight of lot approximately 35.00 grams.
