TWO FANS WITH GENRE SCENES, LANDSCAPES AND ANIMALS.

Origin: China.
Dynasty: Qing dynasty.
Date: Ca. 1870. For export.
Description: a) Sandalwood, covers carved in relief, sticks in fine relief and openword. Paper,
silver-plated and painted, 30 small faces. L.28cm, w.51cm. Silk tassel. b) Covers and
sticks in canton lacquer, colored. Paper, painted, 29 small faces. Folds brittle and
partly torn. L.29cm, w.54cm. Silk tassel preserved. Cardboard box.
Condition B. Both with traces of use and rubbed.

Provenance:
-Collection of "The Great Nesbitt" (Sinclair Neil Nesbitt, 1886-1936). Chinese style magician who performed throughout Europe from 1919-1928. Probably acquired from the estate of the magician "Chung Ling Soo" (William E. Robinson, 1861-1918).
-1936 inherited to his son Cecil Ronald Nesbitt (1914-1996), who lived in Spain since 1986.
-1996 inherited to a befriended family.
