Two fossil rays - Libanopristis hiram, Rhinobatos whitfieldi - 67×60×5 cm

The sawfish such as the Libanopristis hiram have a snout stretching into a rostrum laterally holding small teeth. The pectoral fins, well developed, join the rostrum and the head is not individualized from the body. The genus Rhinobatos still swims modern seas, it belongs to the rays. R. whitfieldi is characterized by a disk longer than wide. The sawfish measures 54 cm, the guitarfish 30 cm. Please note that fossils are nearly always found by splitting vast amount of rocks. This means that most fossils will be glued in some place, most will have a small part chipped away. Professional preparation ensures, that fossils are preserved in a state as close to original as possible. We will deliver every fossil with a Certificate of Authenticity. The fossil will best be collected in France but can of course be shipped insured and with tracking number via Colissimo.
