Two silver mounted dressing table sets, a modern silver compact case & three glass bottles.

A 1950's silver mounted dressing table set, to include a hand mirror, hair brush and clothes brush, each of engine-turned form with an engraved floral and foliate motif, hallmarked W G Sothers Ltd., Birmingham 1952, length of hand mirror measures 10 1/2 inches (27 cm). Together with a 1960's four piece silver mounted dressing table set, with engraved foliate decoration and vacant oval cartouches, hallmarked Birmingham 1968-1970, a modern silver compact case of circular form with engraved initials and three cut-glass bottles, one with hallmarked silver mounts, the other two with unmarked mounts. In overall fair to good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Minor bumps and dents to the dressing table sets, the mirror plates are in a good condition, some of the brushes have significant losses to their bristles, the comb has a faux tortoiseshell component. No personal engravings to the cartouches. The compact is engraved with the initials 'AB', remnants of powder and a tarnish stain to the interior. Hallmarks slightly rubbed but still legible. The glass bottles are in poor condition. Mounts are all heavily tarnished. Repair to the hinged lid and does not close properly. Other mounts with dints, some losses and creases around the rims. Edge chips and nibbles to glass. One stopper missing.
