- Excellent condition - Marble stack - France - h: 8cm, d: 36. 5cm - Pink, Beige Bruno Hugounenq – Ravanille and Raspberry: marble stucco revisited A passionate craftsman and creator of materials, Bruno Hugounenq perpetuates the techniques and alchemy of ancient trades. In his workshops in Arles and Beaucaire, in the Gard, he paints furniture as in the Renaissance, imitates marble with bone gelatin or embellishes the walls with saponified wax as under Roman times. The master works with lime and plaster, mixed with animal glues or other products, garlic, salt, or cloves, which seem improbable to us today. He also mastered, like no other, the technique of marble stucco, this astonishing multicolored paste, very popular in the Baroque period, allowing the production of fake marbles. An exclusively manual method requiring many hours of sanding and delicate finishes, it is mainly used in the restoration of heritage, but lends itself perfectly, under the expert hands of our craftsman, to contemporary creation.
